Marvel has released the official timeline for the MCU. The times in which these movies were happening were always a big confusion. After their huge mistake in saying that Spider-Man: Homecoming is happening after 8 years of the first Avengers movie, Marvel President, Kevin Feige, went on the record and said that they will release an official timeline in some time.

1943 – 1945: Captain America: The First Avenger

2010: Iron Man

2011: Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk, Thor

2012: The Avenger, Iron Man 3

2013: Thor: The Dark World

2014: Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

2015: Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man

2016: Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming

2016 – 2017: Doctor Strange

2017: Black Panther, Thor: Ragnorak, Avengers: Infinity War

Finally, it is revealed that Spider-Man: Homeconig was set in 2016 after 4 years of the first Avenger movie, not 8 years. Though the timeline solves some of the errors, it raises some too. Like, in Captain America: Civil War, Vision said that it’s been 8 years since Tony Stark announced that he is Iron Man. Well, according to the timeline, Iron Man was set in 2010 and Captain America: Civil War was set in 2016. So it would be 6 years not 8 years.

Another example would be in Avengers: Infinity War, as it stated that it’s been two years after Captain America: Civil War. But according to timeline, Avengers: Infinity War was set in 2017. Looks like, they didn’t account for this continuity error.

Some movies are moved to match the timeline, like Avengers: Infinity War. The movie is moved to 2017 as it continues right after Thor: Ragnorak. Now, the major error in the timeline is Black Panther. The timeline set the movie to happen in 2017 but in Black Panther, a news report said that it’s only been a week after the UN bombing, the event in which T’Challa’s father T’Chaka died.

Ant-Man and the Wasp didn’t take place in the timeline, assuming that the timeline was prepared before the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp. But, with the post-credits scene in Ant-Man and the Wasp, one can easily assume that the movie is happening sometime before the Avengers: Infinity War.
